Every entry is graded and the grade travels with it, onto the row, the regime page and the API response. A low grade means we could not tie it to a source we trust, so the regime is listed and no figure is stated.
How to read a confidence grade
- Confidence: highRead off primary law94
- The trigger and the figure both come from the statute, regulation or convention itself, at the pinpoint cited. Quote it. The citation on the regime page is the text a counterparty has to answer.
- Confidence: mediumDerived or secondary source272
- The law is clear but a threshold or an amount is indexed, converted, or taken from an official regulator page rather than the instrument. The entitlement is sound; treat the exact figure as an opening number and check the current rate.
- Confidence: lowUnverified — no amount stated288
- We could not tie the entry to a source we trust: the regime is in flux, or the only accounts of it are law-firm summaries and press. We state that the regime exists and where to look, and we deliberately state no figure. A gap we admit to is worth more than a number nobody checked.
